LARGE NUMBER OF VISITORS ON PENULTIMATE DAY OF SERBIA FASHION WEEK
This year’s April edition of Serbia Fashion Week was the most visited so far, and one of the most popular days definitely was a Friday, the penultimate day of the event. The fifth day of Serbia Fashion Week began at the Cultural Center of Novi Sad where Nikki Chacanot and Samir Bahrir held a seminar on fashion photography. During the fashion show, numerous visitors were able to see the great creations of local designers such as Mladen Milovojević Baron, Lepa Couture, Equi by Ljiljana Vujanović, Aleksandar Gavrić, Maja Tošković and Lagami.
Guests of honor from France, Nikki Chacanot, editor of fashion magazines and stylists and Samir Bahrir, fashion photographer, have been successful for many years in this business. During their rich career, they worked with some of the biggest fashion magazines such as Vogue. Because they have such a great experience they decided to create their own newspaper Lash, but this time they presented their work and more than the original approach to fashion photography. Parisians said they love of Novi Sad very much and that city is colorful and full of inspiring places for photography.
The penultimate day was opened with the fashion show of young Serbian designer Aleksandar Gavrić. His collection and unique work have attracted a lot of attention. The collection which is dominated by black, white and gray colors, was worn by many models, of which the greatest enthusiasm caused Marija Žeželj and Mateja Vukašinović. After fashion show of this sixteen years old designer, the audience was on its feet and greeted him with loud shouts. “Impressions are excellent. When I came to bow, the hall was full and everyone was screaming. I would describe Serbia Fashion Week in one sentence – it changed my life. I enjoy here. Even when it’s not my show I’ve been here all day. I am pleased with the atmosphere and energy in this event „, said Aleksandar, adding that there are a lot of big plans, but most are related to his new collection, which will come out next season.
After the young Gavrić, the audience had the opportunity to see the creations of designer Lagami. The collection which is inspired by feminity is full of cheerful colors and light materials. The designer is recognizable for using natural fabrics such as cotton and viscose, but she also likes to use fabrics that are not often used in the production of clothing. She said that she loves Serbia Fashion Week and that it is always a great pleasure for her to attend this event.
During this wonderful evening, the audience enjoyed watching the collection of designer Liljana Vujanović. Her brand Equi abounds with feminine combinations of lace and fur, while the number of models presented military motives and baby doll dresses. The fashion show exuded great atmosphere and at the end audience and critics did not hide they were delighted.
The second block was opened by Montenegrin designer Maja Tošković, who takes part in Serbia Fashion Week for the first time. The collection was various – from provocative evening dresses to long elegant dresses. The designer says that she founds inspiration in herself and her emotions, while her creations stand out sexuality in women. Her biggest dream is to present herself in Paris and in future career will continue to go in that direction.
The fifth day of the spring edition of Serbia Fashion Week was complemented by the fashion show of one of our most famous designers, Mladen Milivojević Baron.
All fashion lovers and admirers of this designer truly enjoyed in his new collection named „Love is in Novi Sad.“ He found his inspiration in Vojvodina and Novi Sad, but this time the main muse was an animal rooster as a symbol of light, birth and awakening. For his “love collection“ Mladen used cotton with a touch of lace, flax and silk to highlight the elegance of creations. The audience did not hide delight on this collection, and after successful fashion show on Serbia Fashion Week, Mladen will show his collections at other international Fashion weeks.
The fifth evening of Serbia Fashion Week was closed with marvelous fashion show prepared by the Lepa Couture. Lepa Dragojević, whose designs carry many famous ladies, delighted the audience in Novi Sad. She did not hide her satisfaction after the show, so she said with a smile: „When I see the audience is happy and satisfied, I am happy too. That gives me strength and confidence. “ The elegant pants, blouses, skirts and dresses in pastel colors exuded romance and femininity. The spirit of some old times was evoked not only by designs but also by the scenography on the catwalk. The designer said that she likes to use fabrics such as lace, silk and crystal details and added: „I always find inspiration in women who are independent and strong. I love when they are elegant and sexy at the same time. Nothing is vulgar, everything is so simple and romantic.“
