Paris, France – The Serbia Fashion Week planning committee is thrilled to formally announce that the celebrated French photo-artist, Thomas Devaux, has accepted to show his work as part of the SFW Design Week & Applied Arts Exhibitions. And as special guest artist, he will take part in the SFW Educational Series. He will speak on Friday, October 17th at 3:00pm.

Mr. Devaux’s work is a combination of beauty in which he “re-creates” his own characters through a Dr. Frankenstein method. He literally takes individual physical traits from numerous sources such as the eyes, mouth, nose, forehead, etc., and then creates a composite character from the pieces. The final work is then treated to digital editing with a stunning and haunting result that is something that looks more like a classical painting than contemporary photography.

Though he is a contemporary artist in every sense of the term, Mr. Devaux actually found his muses while working as a photographer and cameramen in the backstages of some of the most important fashion shows in the world like Jean-Paul Gaultier, Elie Saab, Christophe Josse, Versace, etc.

From the very beginning of his career, he has won numerous awards. A book has already been published on his work. And he has shown in galleries as guest artist and in major exhibitions in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Ulsan (South Korea), Moscow, Paris, Brussels, etc. His participation in the SFW DESIGN WEEK & APPLIED ARTS EXHIBITION marks the first time that he has accepted an invitation to show his work during a fashion week.

In addition to numerous television reports, Mr. Devaux’s work has been featured in major publications such as Vogue, Le Figaro, Le Temps, L’Express Magazine, L’Express Style, Eyemazing, UIPF, Blow, Shots, Azart, Prism, Connaissances des Arts, Chroniques, Polka Mag, Photo Magazine, Adore Noir, Raise Magazine, etc.
