Novi Sad, Serbia – In the cadre of the designer exchange protocol signed between the Serbia Fashion Week and the FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week Poland, Serbian designer Vasilije Kovačev has been chosen to present his new Spring/Summer 2015 collection in Lodz, Poland. His show will take place on Friday, October 24 during the main catwalk shows.

Kovačev will initially debut his „DESERT ROSE“ collection at the Serbia Fashion Week in Novi Sad, at 7:30pm on Friday, October 17. Days later he will travel to Poland to present the collection to Poland’s national and international press corps and buyers.

„The new Spring/Summer 2015 collection is about the path one takes in his quest to find love“, according to Kovačev.

„Its Desert Rose title is a metaphor and direct reference to the untamed and unstable desert that one often takes in his quest. Similar to the parts of our soul, the landscape shapes of a Desert Rose is like a beautiful crystal on the one hand and similar to the blowing winds of our soul on the other hand.Days later he will travel to Poland where he will unveil the show to international press and buyers for additional considerations.

Kovačev was born in Zrenjanin, Serbia. After design studies at his high in Novi Sad, he enrolled at the Faculty for Applied Arts in Belgrade. Graduating with a degree in fashion design from the Modern Fashion Department in 2002, he began working in fashion illustration and design, women’s and men’s clothing and fashion accessories.

Over the past 16 years he has consistently shown his collections abroad and at home at the Fashion Selection and Serbia Fashion Week. In addition to his main line, he has organized several successful exhibitions around to highligh his masks, fashion drawings and costumes.

Founded in April 2009, the FashionPhilosophy Fashion Week has become the pre-eminent fashion event for professionals and press in Poland, and one of the most important fashion weeks on the international calendar.
