At one of the most important fashion events in the world, Milan Fashion Week, out country had three representatives, thanks to SFW. Designer Milica Trickovic presented her collection at the young talents competition, her colleague Natasa Zupac presented her collection at the Mad Mood platform and the president of SFW, Svetlana Horvat, was invited to take part in the work of the judges at the young designers competition EFU at MFW.
-Over 70 young designers participated in this event. I am happy that Serbia had a designer of its own – Milica Trickovic who presented her new collection. Milica is confidently walking towards the international fashion scene, said Svetlana proudly.
Milica had been successfully building her designer career for five years and has presented her collections in Vienna, Prague, Malta, Russia, Milan…This time she has shown her Blessing collection which was inspired by Serbian tradition mostly through Orthodox Christian frescoes and icons. She says she finds this theme very inspiring and plans on using it again.
-I tried to combine Orthodox Christian motifs with the finest lace and feathers, wanting this collection to be glamorous. I have also used the patchwork technique again and I try to use it differently every time. I am very happy with the reactions. My dress was worn by one of the guests at the Moschino show and the VIP party afterwards and has drawn much attention. Milan Fashion Week has been an amazing experience – says Milica.
Natasa Zupac presented her collection Azbuka at the Mad Mood platform. It was said that this was the best collection presented on the platform.
-Everything went perfectly and I am thrilled by the reactions – said Natasa Zupac and added:
-Thanks to SFW I have presented my collection Azbuka in Milan which was inspired by my grandfather’s traditional Serbian clothes. I wanted to revive the tradition. Both of these designers will present their collections at SFW in November. The preparations for SFW are already happening. The audience will have the chance to see over 50 designers from all around the world and we are sure that it’s going to be amazing.
