SERBIA FASHION WEEK TAKES PLACE NOVEMBER 20-27 IN NOVI SAD AND BELGRADE

 

It is the biggest fashion festival in our region and the fifth largest fashion week in Europe – Serbia Fashion Week takes place November 20-27 in Novi Sad and Belgrade.

As an international festival, Serbia Fashion Week is marked with the most exponential increase in participants and visitors in Europe. In its first iteration, it was visited by 2500 guests, and today it counts over 30000 guests. With each passing year, Serbia Fashion Week’s offers grows bigger and better. This year, not only will visitors have the opportunity to witness fantastic fashion shows by over 60 designers from 20 different countries around the world, Serbia Fashion Week will also host one of the biggest names in the industry to ever visit a fashion event in our region, Patrizia Gucci. The program is made complete with equally alluring accompanying events such as Design Week, Serbia Fashion Awards, educational seminars, the Show Room, and more.

Serbia Fashion Week 2017 officially begins on November 20, 10 AM at the House of the National Assembly of Serbia with a conference: “Branding by Fashion – the Role of Fashion Within the Branding of Tourist Destinations and Nations”, a panel discussion involving some of the greatest local and international branding and fashion experts. The “Branding in Fashion and Art” panel will be held by Donald Potard, former general director of the Jean Paul Gaultier fashion brand and Head of the Fashion Design Department at the Paris College of Art, William Arlotti, the expert fashion consultant and director of the French agency House Off, Tijana Palkovljević, director of the Gallery of Matica Srpska, and Robert Čoban, CEO of Color Press Group. Participating in “The Role of the Fashion Industry in Attracting Tourists and Investments“ are Marija Labović, director of the National Tourism Organisation of Serbia, Branislav Knežević, director of the Tourist Organisation of the city of Novi Sad, Dr Biljana Chronos Krasavac, professor at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, and Eymeric Francois, art director of fashion events and fairs in Paris and Berlin. Last but not least, the Day 1 program includes an exhibition of 10 reproductions of paintings by famous Serbian artists loaned from the Gallery of Matica Srpska, along with creations by fashion designers who were inspired by them.

The runway, however, is the key event of Serbia Fashion Week, this international festival dedicated to fashion and art. Fashion lovers will experience runways by world renown fashion designers such as Eymeric Francois (France), Eric Rosette (US), Maarten van Mulken (the Netherlands), Cyril Mirat (France), and more. At the core of Serbia Fashion Week are the many Serbian designers who have been representing this manifestation all year across runways around the world. Finally back home, they will showcase some of their newest collections – Serbia Fashion Week fan favorites and new designers alike. Serbian designers who will present at Serbia Fashion Week 2017 are Bata Spasojević, Mladen Milivojević Baron, Boško Jakovljević, Vasilije Kovačev, Marija Šabić, Vlastimir Jovanov, Lepa Couture, Milica Tričković, Suzana Perić, and more.

Beside glamorous fashion shows, Serbia Fashion Week is also an opportunity to hear lectures by leading experts in the European fashion industry. This very important segment of the fashion week comprises of conferences, seminars and B2B events, with lecturers from the world of fashion, design and consultants in innovative industries such as Donald Potard, Davide Forloni, the representative of Istituto Marangoni in Milan, William Arlotti, and Hana Hadžiavdagić Tabaković.

Serbia Fashion Awards takes place on November 27 at 7 PM in the Italian Embassy in Belgrade.
